How do you work with
your customers?
We operate with long-term contracts and large-volume
situations, on short-term projects and even day-of-need fill-ins. In some
cases, Med-Assist™ even works from standing orders to provide regularly
scheduled staff pharmacists.
Is
Med-Assist™ expensive?
Yes and No. Our hourly rates are usually much more than
the gross cost of employment reflected in a payroll check. However, our overall
rate per employee is typically much less than the actual costs of hiring, and
managing temporary staff in-house through in internal Human Resources (HR)
department.
How fast can I get a
pharmacist?
Usually, it is a same day or next day service. Sometimes
within the hour, it is always easier for us and simpler for our customers if
the basic paperwork is developed ahead of time and only the order needs to be
processed when the need arises. That is why we urge potential customers to sign
up with Med-Assist™ ahead of time, even when the need is not pressing. It only
makes sense to have an available option you can depend on.
Do you have
pharmacists who are trained in specialized areas?
Yes. We have pharmacists and technicians with a variety of
specialties, including many incredibly experienced in long term care,
hospitals, home infusion, retail, etc. So, let us know exactly your need, and

While everyone seeks competency, dependability and
responsiveness, we at Med-Assist™ are proud to say that our customers, the
large chains as well as the independent pharmacists with single stores,

Do you have good
pharmacists?
In
our experience, this question really addresses two distinct business areas,
each involving your liability. First,
each pharmacist we hire is thoroughly screened through their employment history
and the Board of Pharmacy. They are licensed, in good standing and insured.
Second, Med-Assist™ interviews and hires only the most qualified pharmacy
staff, capable of jumping into difficult situations, demonstrating an ability
to merge seamlessly with existing staff, and getting the job done in a manner
which promotes positively our client’s organizations and Med-Assist’s™ culture.
What computer systems
are your pharmacists familiar with?
Computer literacy is a must for working with Med-Assist’s™.
In fact, almost all of our pharmacists are trained on multiple versions of the
most popular systems, including PDX, Condor, PPC, and others. However, in our
experience, individual companies often have slight variations of these common
systems. Sometimes special training is required of fill-in pharmacists. In
those cases, we are equipped to handle these specialized training and testing
on these systems.
Are your pharmacists
up to date?
Yes. Med-Assist’s™ keeps only currently licensed associates,
in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy and carries malpractice insurance.
Most of our associates also hold other pharmacy positions which require them to
keep abreast with the latest changes in the industry and its trends. Our
pharmacists are prepared to step into your work environment and professionally
handle the responsibilities.
How do you screen
your pharmacists?
Carefully,
Not only do we screen them, we continue to monitor their performance after they
are on the job for you. We check our pharmacists’ employment history; we check
their personal and professional references, and we check their good standing
with the Board of Pharmacy. Med-Assist™ also interviews each candidate and
rates him or her on a professional competency scale. We ensure proficiency in
English or any foreign language requirements in order to assure functionality
within your pharmaceutical milieu. Each pharmacist also undergoes a rigorous
drug screened process.
Can I get the same
pharmacist each time?
Yes, we try to assign the same pharmacist or technician in
order to eliminate ramp-up time. We maintain meticulous employee/customer
records for exactly this need.
Can I hire a
pharmacist from you?
Yes. However, it is always best to indicate the possible
need at the onset of an assignment in order to properly screen amongst
associated available for permanent placement. This makes for a better
transition in terms of cost and time.
